The Momentum team is gearing up for the upcoming Charleston Basket Brigade that feeds families throughout the Charleston Tri-County area over the Thanksgiving holiday and is the largest Thanksgiving effort in the area.

The Charleston Basket Brigade is a local 501-(c)3 non-profit that was founded by Momentum Agency Principal, Pam Hartley and her close friend Michelle Scarafile in 2008. The charity is dedicated to providing local families in need with all of the ingredients to cook an entire Thanksgiving meal.

This year, we are aiming to raise $100,000 which will feed approximately 20,000 local residents in need. It only takes $30 to feed a family of 6-8 and 100% of donations are utilized to purchase food.

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 26, 2013 hundreds of people volunteer their time to assemble boxes and meals before delivery to families.

Each family receives a basket of ingredients to cook an entire Thanksgiving meal including a 10-12 lb. turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, cranberry sauce, fresh rolls, butter and a pumpkin pie. Each family also receives an anonymous letter inside the basket that states, “This comes to you from someone who cares about you. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else one day.”

As a partner with this charity, the Momentum Marketing team of course volunteers on the day of the brigade and provides the CBB with publicity and planning to get the word out about this incredible cause!
