The entire Momentum Marketing team had an incredible evening last night at the 2014 Cooper River Bridge Run (CRBR) Design Unveiling held at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant. Agency Principal, Pam Hartley was honored to reveal the winning designs of the 37th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run and Kids Run & Wonderfest in front of a packed room of guests and reporters.

This year’s voting process was particularly special because for the first time the CRBR included a “People’s Choice” vote, asking Facebook Fans to vote on the design entries.  The thousands of Facebook votes counted for 25% of the total votes, while the remaining votes were cast at a private judging event which included local dignitaries, community designers, event sponsors and past Cooper River Bridge Run Design winners. The Momentum creative team was honored to be a part of the private judging, while our social team simultaneously coordinated the “People’s Choice” voting to the public via Facebook posts.

Announced last night, the winner of the 2014 Cooper River Bridge Run Design Contest is Marcus Terry of Charlotte, NC. He said that his design was inspired by running underneath the bridge’s cable stays while the colors were “meant to reflect the bright and vibrant character of the City of Charleston and its residents who open their arms to us year after year.”

The official CRBR Kids Run & Wonderfest design for 2014 was submitted by the late Peyton Johnson Moore of Mount Pleasant, SC. Peyton, only 9 years old, passed away earlier this summer. His parents Noah & Jennifer Moore accepted congratulations last night on behalf of the entire family. Because of his large influence on the Charleston community, this year’s Kids Run is being dedicated to him.

“It was such a moving evening last night,” said Hartley. “The room was filled with emotion as the late Peyton Moore’s family and fellow classmates came to the front of the room to celebrate the young man’s posthumous recognition. We were all thrilled to be a part of it.”
