Charleston’s Own Ashley Brook Perryman Leads Hair & Makeup at New York Fashion Week
Charleston’s own LA trained hair & makeup artist, Ashley Brook Perryman landed the Official Hair & Makeup Sponsor and Lead for the hair & makeup design for designer Lisa N. Hoang (LNH), at New York Fashion Week (NYFW): the show’s fall 2016 event. This was the first time Perryman directed a team of this caliber at NYFW.
Hair and makeup creative direction for NYFW shows are typically led and sponsored by big name brands like Maybelline and TRESSemme. However, given the opportunity by show director, inventivENVIRONMENTS and designer Lisa Hoang, Perryman’s team of professional hair and makeup artists, known as Team ABP, and recently launched cosmetic line, ABP makeup, felt right at home behind the scenes at two NYFW events. In fact, the team has worked together for several years doing over 48 shows in 5 days for Charleston Fashion Week each spring.
Perryman said, “It’s rare to have a hair and makeup team who is not only talented, but genuinely care and support each other. Most teams consist of a few staple people, along with new freelance artists. But Team ABP has been working together for years and includes 26 top industry professionals across the country from NY, FL, SC, NC, and GA. Perryman served as the Hair & Makeup Director & Lead at the Lisa N. Hoang Spring/Summer 2017 runway show on September 9 at The Gallery at Skylight Clarkson Sq. Perryman also served as Makeup Lead at the Destani Hoffman New York Fashion Week Presentation on September 10.
“Both of these designers are incredible. Lisa has an amazing eye and talent. It was an honor to collaborate on hair and makeup with her for her NYFW debut. Destani has such a wonderful vibe for makeup, and it was so much fun working with her,” added Perryman.
As the Creative Director for hair & makeup at Charleston Fashion Week the last 10 years, Perryman’s experience in the beauty industry spotlight skyrocketed her and Team ABP to the main stage at New York Fashion Week.
