We just adore this cutting edge fundraiser from Momentum client The Coastal Cupboard!

KnifeSharpening logoIt’s the perfect synergy between product, promotion and fundraising.  The Coastal Cupboard’s “Charity Knife Sharpening Event” happens only twice a year, and each event raises thousands of dollars for the beneficiary charity.

The first sharpening event of 2013 happens Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 at The Coastal Cupboard’s 644-J Long Point Road location in the Mt. Pleasant, SC Belle Hall Shopping Center. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Everyone in the Charleston area is invited to get their straight-edged knives professionally sharpened for a one dollar donation per knife, with all proceeds benefiting “Feed The Need.” The Coastal Cupboard is also offering free gourmet food tastings, a charity raffle booth including a grand prize dinner for four to the Charleston Grill.

Feed The Need was created to eliminate some of the economic burden that area soup kitchens and shelters are facing in today’s economic environment. 52 Charleston area restaurants rallied together and each committed to one day of food service, 52 weeks per year, at four local nonprofits—Tricounty Family Ministries, East Cooper Meals on Wheels, Crisis Ministries and Neighborhood House. The goal is to serve 500 meals per week to those that are in need.

This fundraising effort is in perfect harmony with The Coastal Cupboard’s mission of aligning with charities that feed folks in need in the Charleston area.  Brad Pitner, owner of The Coastal Cupboard said, “Feed The Need is a charity that is very close to our hearts and we hope to raise a substantial amount of money at this event to support their cause.”

Momentum Marketing promotes the event through various marketing channels – digital, social media, traditional marketing and public relations.  We hope to see you there!
