The Power of Conversation (or Lack Thereof)

This year, the Grammys rolled out so many exciting angles of marketing that Twitter peaked at 10,901 tweets per second during the show. From Twitter promotions to Shazam, Pandora, Google, Tumblr, Facebook and other social and digital networking tie-ins, the onslaught of activity rivaled that of this year’s Super Bowl, Ad Age reports.

What we find even more amazing, though, is that during Jennifer Hudson’s moving performance of “I Will Always Love You,” a tribute for Whitney Houston, the conversations and back-and-forth across Twitter and other social networks slowed down dramatically. All of a sudden, viewers paused to listen to Jennifer’s performance before picking up their phones or getting onto their computers again to talk about it.

We love that just because there was a lack of information during this performance – or a lack of conversation – doesn’t mean that people weren’t paying attention. In fact, people were paying attention so much that they paused the chatter to sit back, listen and reflect.

Just because your fans and customers aren’t necessarily saying something doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking about your business. However, making sure that your customers do have your business to think about, visualize and hear requires consistent messaging through advertising, social media, PR, your marketing campaign and more.

At Momentum, we utilize creativity, ingenuity and innovation with a twist of inspiration to create a full-service campaign for your business. Give us a call today to find out how we will get your business seen, heard and the topic of thought plus conversation with your customer base: 843-377-8450.
