Momentum Spotlight: Jamie Markey

 

Jamie Markey is one of our wonderful Design Darlings! She is the creative mind behind many of our clients’ ads and marketing materials, and her passion for design resonates through every project. Jamie is always willing to stay a little later, make one more edit, and go the extra mile for our team and our clients. Take a moment to get to know our Art Director, Jamie.

Education: Salisbury University in Maryland, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design.

 

What do you love about working at Momentum?

 

“I love the people at Momentum and collaborating with everyone. We also have a good mix of clients, too, so it’s fun to be creative with every project!”

 

What’s your background in your field?

 

“After getting my BFA, I moved to New York City, where I worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director for 12 years at various pharmaceutical advertising agencies. In the beginning of my career, I was primarily creating print pieces that sales reps would use in doctors’ offices and materials that were focused towards patients. Once the field started shifting to the digital world, I started creating apps, desktop, and mobile websites, custom emails, interactive convention panels, etc. I also freelanced for a real estate company before leaving the Big Apple for Charleston.”

 

What is your favorite quote?

 

“You can never be great at anything unless you love it.” -Maya Angelou

 

What can we find you doing on the weekends?

 

“In my free time, I like checking out new restaurants and live music in the area with my husband, traveling, and going to the beach with our 2 dogs, Bailey and Leia.”
