A Big Welcome To Our New Creative Director, Derek Wacaster! 

We’re excited to welcome Derek Wacaster to the Momentum Marketing team as our new Creative Director. Derek brings with him many years of experience; he began his career as a copywriter and a broadcast producer before transitioning into an even more creative role. 

 

Derek has worked for agencies in Little Rock, Arkansas and in Charleston supporting the marketing efforts for a host of varying companies—from small local businesses to giant global corporations. Derek says, “I love the business because no matter what product or service we’re selling, there’s a story to be discovered and told. It’s my job to do that. Not a bad gig to make ideas for a living.”

 

Derek loves Charleston. “It’s such a treasure (maybe not the traffic part), with the fabulous scenery, wonderful food and friendly people. It was love at first sight when I first came here, and I’m proud to now call it home,” he says. On the weekends, you’ll find him on the boat or the beach enjoying “salt therapy” (as he’s termed it) or eating all the Mexican food he can find. 

 

His sage word of advice? It’s from Yoda—“Do, or do not. There is no try.”
