When we picked up our copy of the local paper  The Post and Courier today we noticed a very intriguing story involving football and popular website, Youtube. It wasn’t until we read the full story that we realized how social media made such a huge impact on one local boy’s life.

We all know social media is a powerful tool for marketing and public relations, but for Cameron Burnette, it became a stepping stone for achieving every kid’s dream. In 2009, Cameron’s father posted his football highlights on youtube and Cameron became an overnight sensation.

Following the video, Burnette was chosen as “the next generation of superstar athletes,” by Sports Illustrated magazine. Athletic superstars such as Matt Barkley and Bryce Harper were also included on the prestigious list.

This fall, he is now a freshman starting Wide Receiver at Summerville High School who has aspirations of going to college and being in the NFL one day. Here at Momentum, we love seeing kids, and adults alike, chase their dreams!

You can read more about Cameron’s adventure on the original Post and Courier story.
