The 15th Annual Charleston James Island Connector Run was held this weekend and was as successful as ever.  There was a record-breaking turnout with almost 1,400 runners, walkers, and bikers that participated.

The James Island Connector Run benefits the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation and over the past 15 years, the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation has presented 75 scholarships to students with disabilities.

We are also thrilled because three of our clients were sponsors for the event! Baker Buick GMC Cadillac was a 2013 Presenting Sponsor, The Cooper River Bridge Run was a 2013 Supporting Sponsor, and Gwynn’s of Mt. Pleasant was a 2013 Silver Sponsor.

 Baker Buick GMC Cadillac was ready for the occasion as they brought five Baker cars on site and the GMC Sierra was the lead car kicking off the race carrying Clyde, the College of Charleston Cougar.

Julian Smith, the Race Director from the Cooper River Bridge Run and his team came out for the 2nd year in a row with their ultimate grill and cooking skills and prepared hotdogs for racers with loads of toppings (A favorite both years!).

It was a great day with beautiful weather celebrating a wonderful cause and we are so glad our clients helped the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation raise money to support their scholarship program. Start the countdown for next year!
