What do you love about working at Momentum?

 

“The teamwork. In my 20 years in marketing in Charleston and surrounding areas, I have yet to meet a team that is so down to earth and ready to jump in to help when needed. Everyone here really has great perspectives and points-of-view that come into our decision making about how to position our clients best. It’s something I’m thankful for every day—a team eager to help when you ask.”

 

What’s your background in your field?

 

“Promotions Assistant at WCIV was my first job out of college and what brought me to Charleston. I spent seven years at Clear Channel Radio as the Non-Traditional Revenue Director. During that time, I co-founded Party at the Point, now in its 18th year. I lived for a few years in Myrtle Beach working at the House of Blues as the Marketing Director and Show Promoter. When I returned to Charleston, I took a position as the Marketing Director for The Kickin’ Chicken. I did my own thing for a bit and handled sponsorships for First Flush Festival with The Avett Brothers and Sheryl Crow. Then, I realized that I missed being part of a team and called Pam [Hartley, Agency Principal] and said ‘Hey, let’s have a drink,’ and that was that.”

 

What is your favorite quote?

 

If you FAIL, never give up because F-A-I-L means, “First Attempt In Learning.”  END is not the end. In fact, E-N-D means “Effort Never Dies.” If you get NO as an answer, remember N-O means ‘Next Opportunity.’

 

“You don’t have a right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt. You have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you’re holding.”

 

What can we find you doing on the weekends?

 

“Spending as much outdoor time as possible with my boyfriend. Beach, fishing at breach inlet, anything outside (including diving with sharks), and of course, live music.”
