Pam has been in the marketing industry for nearly 25 years. She leads Momentum Marketing with expertise in database marketing, public relations, multi-media creative production, media negotiations, branding, web development, and social media marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Purdue University. Pam, a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming who has 21 advertising awards to her name, founded Momentum in 2005, and has since grown the business to support clients all over the United States. She is the co-founder of The Charleston Basket Brigade, a local non-profit that raises funds to feed Thanksgiving dinners to local families in need. With a passion for outreach, Pam has also served as the Chairperson of the Global Tony Robbins Graduate Community, as the Professional Development Steering Committee Chair for the East Cooper Entrepreneurial Women non-profit organization, as a member of the Advisory Board for The Lowcountry Business Network, and as a mentor in College of Charleston’s MBA program.
Gillian has been a member of the Momentum Marketing team for nearly five years. After earning her bachelor’s degree in economics from Clemson, she left the rolling hills of the Upstate to pursue her MBA at College of Charleston. At our office, Gillian handles the Cooper River Bridge Run account and keeps everyone on track by managing all of the agency’s processes. She also serves on the board of the Asheville Half Marathon. Gillian can often be found sampling the smattering of new restaurants downtown, traveling near and far to see a great band, or running on the beach with her puppies, Lulu and Cricket.
Melissa is a Lowcountry native, and she has over a decade of design experience. As Creative Director, she leads our art team with her extensive knowledge in brand development, stunning ad layouts and multi-media design in countless industries. Melissa has been Momentum’s design whiz for over 6 years and has created campaigns for clients across the nation, captivating the eyes of customers coast to coast through billboards, high-end magazine ads, industry collateral, websites, digital ads, trade show designs and event materials.
Her bright smile is not only attributed to her positive attitude; she was also a dental assistant while attending design school. Melissa received her degree in design from Trident Technical College and has been sharing her creativity through her work ever since!
On any given weekend, you can find her painting Lowcountry landscapes, off-shore fishing in the Keys, cooking gourmet meals, and enjoying time outside in her garden.
Although he was born and raised in Charlotte, Lawrence’s family has deep roots in the Lowcountry—his family has been part of the Charleston community for over 100 years. His marketing experience is vast, including years of work with Fox and NBC before launching his own firm in Chicago. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Business from The University of Georgia. Feeling a draw to Charleston and his Southern roots, he moved to the Holy City in 2010 and joined the Momentum Marketing team.
A true innovator at heart, Alex is passionate about applying the latest technology trends to the development of new business for our clients. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Elon University and later a Master of Arts degree in Interactive Media also from Elon University. Alex leads the digital marketing department at Momentum, managing campaigns for all of our clients. He has a master’s degree from Elon University in interactive media, and in addition to a digital marketing background, he has experience in national marketing, broadcast television, and print newspaper. On a day off, you can find Alex at the beach or immersed in the downtown food-and-beverage scene with his wife, Emily.
A Charleston native, LaKashia left home to attend South Carolina State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. She then moved to Columbia, SC, where she spent 4.5 years working as an Automotive Advertising Account Executive at The State Media Company. After obtaining her MBA from Webster University’s Columbia campus, LaKashia returned home to take over an open Multi-Media Consultant position in the Automotive Advertising Department at The Post and Courier. With a combined 13.5 years of experience between The State Media Company and The Post and Courier, LaKashia has become well versed in the marketing needs of the Automobile Industry. So much so, that for the past year she has been managing the Marketing & Digital Sales efforts of a local Ford Dealership. In her spare time, LaKashia, along with her husband Thomas, enjoy spending time with their two-year old son, Brayden!
Hailing from Charlotte, NC, Spencer Willis, is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and dreamed of working and living in Charleston ever since he was a child. At USC, Spencer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. In his career so far, he has managed multiple high profile digital campaigns and has developed a keen ability to identify target audiences and determine the best methods of digitally presenting information to the audience. Starting at WCSC-TV, Spencer gained two years of digital media advertising experience in the Charleston market. Now, he continues his salt life dream by joining the Momentum team as our Digital Marketing Manager. Residing in Downtown Charleston, Spencer enjoys traveling, concerts, playing spikeball on the beach, and trying new restaurants.
With an *always* smiling face and positive enthusiasm, Emily Trogdon leads our clients’ communication strategies as the agency’s Public Relations Director.
Emily originally joined the Momentum team in 2011, serving our clients for nearly six years. She reunited with the “Mo family” again in 2019. In-between those times, she executed national public relations campaigns promoting A-list brands and consulted for local boutique marketing agencies. In her nine years of experience, she has worked in a multitude of industries, including automotive, luxury retail, healthcare, nonprofit, hospitality, real estate, finance, outdoor and more.
Before beginning her career, she studied public relations and sociology at Francis Marion University and College of Charleston, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in communications with a concentration in PR.
With a passion for giving back, Emily volunteers her PR services for TEDxCharleston, as well as other nonprofit organizations in the Charleston community. In her spare time, she is busy in the kitchen cooking up new recipes, grooving to live music, and enjoying time with her friends and family.
Megan has spent the past five years of her career in an editorial position at Charleston Home + Design magazine, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in not just writing and editing, but also marketing, event planning, social media management, website content development and public relations. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Charleston Southern University and her Master of Arts in English from College of Charleston. In addition, she has contributed to several other South Carolina publications on a freelance basis, has consulted on English curriculum projects, and currently teaches freshman English at Charleston Southern University each fall and spring.
Maddy Spellerberg spent nearly 4 years working for a full-service agency producing some of Charleston’s largest events, including the Volvo Car Open and the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. She is well-versed in public relations, media buying, event planning, and social media, but she loves to work on copywriting and project management, too.
Maddy is incredibly involved in our city’s community. She is a member of the Junior League of Charleston, SPOLETO Scene, and Charleston Young Professionals. She also serves as a Steering Committee Member for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. Nationally, she’s a member of the American Marketing Association. Bonus? She’s a TV host for “The Q” Trivia, too.
On the weekends, you’ll find her swimming in the pool, reading, experiencing a digital detox, watching football, or playing with her adorable pups.
Jamie Markey is a graduate of Salisbury University in Maryland and made her way to the Charleston area in 2015 to enjoy the Lowcountry weather, Southern hospitality, and beautiful beaches. While attending Salisbury, Jamie was able to juggle swimming for her school’s swim team along with working hard for her Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design. Bringing so much to the table with her 12-plus years of experience in advertising agencies, Jamie’s past career consists of print production and digital channels, including but not limited to emails, banner ads, landing pages, website design, and iPad apps. Adjusting swimmingly to the Charleston lifestyle, Jamie enjoys exploring nearby cities in South Carolina, participating in marathons around the country, and listening to live music with her husband.
Christina Shuler earned her bachelor’s degree in business from the College of Charleston and set off on a career in marketing upon graduation. She worked as a multi-media consultant in the automotive department at The Post and Courier for six years, where she built relationships with many automotive, recreational vehicle, and boat dealerships.
After leaving The Post and Courier, Christina spent two years as the marketing manager for a medical center in North Charleston, handling all internal and external marketing operations. Although she gained invaluable knowledge and experience in the medical industry, she was excited to return to her roots here at Momentum by, once again, working in the automotive industry.
Christina said, “What I love most about marketing, is turning clients’ visions into reality and helping them set the stage for their stories.”
Incredibly rare, Christina is a born-and-raised Charlestonian. On the weekends, you can find her on the water, enjoying outdoor activities with friends and family, or eating at a local spot (on the water if possible, of course). Plus, Christina is a licensed esthetician who loves makeup and skincare.
Chloe brings over 3 years of experience in automotive social media marketing to the agency. She moved to Charleston in February 2019 from Northern Virginia for the beaches and warmer weather. She is excited to take her past experience and apply it to Momentum’s wide variety of client industries. Chloe graduated from Radford University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside with her dog, lifting weights, yoga, trying out different restaurants, cooking, and traveling to new places.
John Lee serves our creative and digital departments as our Digital Content Producer, developing interesting and eye-catching visual elements for our clients’ websites, digital ads, and social media platforms. As a graphic designer, he has over seven years of experience, some of which were earned right here in the creative offices of Momentum Marketing. He’s also an experienced photographer and videographer. Even on the weekends, John Lee loves to work on projects for clients and edit photos and videos to perfection. When he’s not working, you can find him on his longboard—earbuds in and iPhone on Airplane Mode.
