Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant Hosts David Bowie & Ibiza Inspired Runway Shows at Charleston Fashion Week
Charleston’s premier luxury department store, Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant, is hosting a rock-and-roll David Bowie themed runway show and an Ibiza-inspired runway show at Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week®, held under the tents on Marion Square from March 15-19, 2016.
Gwynn’s rock-and-roll themed show will adorn the runway at the “Raise the Runway” luncheon and fashion show benefitting MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, March 16th from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. The fashion will commemorate music legend and artist, David Bowie, as it is melodically strutted down the runway. Guests will be taken back in time with vintage clothing and accessories from What Goes Around Comes Around, along with stylish, eccentric items that can all be found at Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant.
Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant Proprietor, Marshall Simon said, “This show is completely unique to Fashion Week. We have pulled a lot of exceptional pieces from our store to bring this show to life; and we are excited to bring What Goes Around Comes Around to Charleston to showcase these incredible accessories on the runway and in our store.”
Gwynn’s will also host an in-store What Goes Around Comes Around Trunk Show on Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th. This fashion line carries finest luxury vintage accessories from Hermès (including Birkin Bags), Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Dior, and more.
On Friday, March 18th Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant will transform the runway into an Ibiza getaway with over 40 spring and summer looks from the store’s women’s and men’s departments. Alice + Olivia, Gorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, Brunello Cucinello and countless other brands will be strutted down the runway.
Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant is also the title sponsor of Charleston Fashion Week’s VIP Lounge. Simon added, “This is an exciting, exclusive lounge where we will host VIP guests and media before and in-between the runway shows.”
