Momentum Inspiration: Coca-Cola's New Freestyle Soda Machine

We love what Coca-Cola is doing to blend marketing, advertising and branding efforts with its new machine, the Freestyle soda fountain. Coca-Cola, one of the advertising and branding behemoths of the world, has plans to unveil the machine in 80 of its different markets by the end of the year. The Freestyle serves up 125 different flavors of soft drinks, flavored waters, sports drinks and lemonades and sends usage data, such as what flavors are most popular at what times of the day, to Coca-Cola’s headquarters. AdAge reports that the company already analyzes soda preference at more than 1,500 machines in restaurants such as Wendy’s, Burger King and Five Guys, and restaurants have already seen a double digit increase in their sales thanks to the new machine. Customers, apparently, are more likely to buy a soda with that sandwich when they get to have fun choosing their drink.

Why do you think the machine has already taken off with consumers? For one, Freestyle allows them to personalize and take ownership of their drink choices and have fun with it. Even the branding – “Freestyle” – emphasizes the free-flowing coolness of the product, and the look is modern, innovative and eye-catching.
