Strange social media news of the week: Mashable.com reports that 1 in 10 pets has a social networking profile.

Whether it’s Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, and now Google+, people love their pets – and their love is no secret. Strangely enough, Mashable points out that “one might even argue that they’re one of the driving forces behind the rise of the social media phenomenon.”
